Goldec SA, in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, produces turned parts for some of the world’s finest watches, as well as components for other manufacturing sectors. Working mainly with batch and medium-production runs we manufacture a wide range of products, including screws, bars, arbors, and pipes.

Goldec works basically with gold and steel but also with other materials, turning 0.8 to 18 mm bar stock. The smallest parts are roughly one tenth of a millimetre, which calls for keen vision and an excellent eye for detail.

Machining gold requires optimum scrap management – its costs being such that every chip must be recovered. Each order is dealt with individually, and when the machining is completed, everything adds up, almost to the last gram – parts and chips...
